In this fight Donaire will atempt to win number four when he faces former 122 pound title holder Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. for the WBO Super Bantamweight Championship at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX. The said fight will be broadcast live on HBO World Championship Boxing®, beginning at 10 p.m. EST / 7 p.m. PST.
Donaire a 29 year old and said to be the favorite since he was no loss since dropping his second professional bout way back in 2001. Yet he hasn't really had a close call since he win split-decision against Kahren Harutyunyan in 2006.
Vasquez Jr. has a punching power to shock Donaire, as he scored 16 knockouts in 19 boxing victories, so Donaire will have to be at the top of his game.
